It can be a challenge finding good mystery shopping companies. You want to work for a reputable organisation and you want to know that you’ll actually get paid for your services. PerformaLogics has a strong track record with a decent scope of opportunities. Best of all, they’re legitimate so you don’t need to worry about payment. Read on for more information about working with PerformaLogics for mystery shopping.

PerformaLogics was established in 2005 and their headquarters is in Calgary, Alberta. They provide mystery shopping services in addition to customer feedback surveys, focus groups, market research, and other services. They have shopping missions available in Canada and the USA.

PerformaLogics is a member of MSPA.
Better Business Bureau (BBB):
PerformaLogics has been listed with the Better Business Bureau since 2006 and has an A+ rating. They’ve been accredited with the BBB since 2010. and although there are no reviews listed, there are also no complaints registered.
Pay range:
PerformaLogics has a good variety of shopping types.
The pay per shopping mission is typically within the range of $12.50 CAD to $40.00 CAD. Plus reimbursement for any expenses outlined as needed for that shopping mission.
You have the potential for more premium shopping missions which offer higher rates. But first, you would need to prove you are reliable. You must establish a good quality record.
Payment method:
With PerformaLogics you only have one option for payment and that’s direct deposit. That means you must give them your banking details.
If this makes you nervous, we completely understand. In fact, we performed a number of shopping missions first to see how the company staff interacted with us. We didn’t proceed until we were comfortable that real people were involved and we could trust the company. Then we provided a void cheque through their internal messaging via the website dashboard.
Payment frequency:
PerformaLogics pays you monthly in the third week of the month after you performed the shops.
As an example, if you performed shops in June, then you would be paid in the third week of July.
Your pay is deposited directly into your bank account. We can confirm it is accurate and deposited on time.
Report submission:
You have to complete and submit a report (or survey) for every shopping mission. You submit your report through the PerformaLogics mystery shopping website. And you must enter it within 24 hours of completing the shop.
Your report is a critically important part of the shop. If you cannot complete your report within the deadline, then you should not accept that shopping mission.
Website usability:
PerformaLogics provides a website where you search for shops. You also submit your reports through the site when you finish a shopping mission. The website contains:
- Profile section
- Job board (“Book Shops”)
- Report section (“File Reports”)
- Section for training – you have to complete training modules prior to certain types of shops to ensure you understand all the requirements
- History section that displays all your completed shops
You can see the available shopping missions listed on the job board. They are displayed based on your profile address and you can further filter the list based on the distance from your address.
The shops are also displayed with colour codes:
- Turquoise – an alert has been identified. For example, a specific age restriction applied.
- Green – available for booking. This means either no pre-training is required or, more likely, you’ve already completed the training for a previous similar shop.
- Orange – generally you need to complete some training before you can book the shop.
- Red – not available due to some sort of restriction, an age restriction for example

PerformaLogics has a presence on both Facebook and Twitter.
Shopping mission availability:
As is often the case, the number of shopping missions available will vary depending on your location and there are usually more missions available in larger urban areas. Within an urban area like Toronto, you’ll find around 30 shopping missions available daily.
Shopper support:
The schedulers are the support team who coordinate the shopping missions. With PerformaLogics the schedulers are available through their individual email addresses or phone numbers. PerformaLogics also has a toll-free support number listed on their website which is very rare from what we’ve seen of mystery shopping companies.
We’ve never used the toll-free number but the individual phone numbers provided by the schedulers are very effective. They usually respond within two hours and more often, you’ll reach the scheduler “live” which is quite impressive.
How does it work?
- From their website, www.performalogics.com, scroll down until you see the section “BECOME A MYSTERY SHOPPER” on the right-hand side of the page.
- From the new page displayed, scroll down to “STEP 3: REGISTER NOW” and click on “Click Here to Register”.
- When you see the new browser tab open, you enter your identification and location details. The “About Me” section is optional but you should enter the information to help match you to opportunities, especially the “Devices You Own” section.
- Then click “Register” to proceed
- Once you’ve received confirmation of your acceptance then you can begin browsing the available shopping missions
When you apply for a shopping mission on most mystery shopping websites, you usually need to wait for a scheduler to assign you the shop. You are competing with other applicants and the schedulers distribute the workload.
PerformaLogics has a different process. As soon as you pass the pre-training then you can apply for that shop. And you are assigned the shop immediately. We really like this approach.

Recommendation:
We have performed a number of mystery shopping missions with PerformaLogics and rate it quite well:
- Shopping mission availability – we’ve seen more shopping missions listed with other providers but they still have a fair amount
- Shopper support – the schedulers are available through email and by phone and are very responsive
- Pay range – the pay is related to the type of shopping mission and is reasonable (but you won’t get rich with mystery shopping)
- Payment – they pay on time, as long as you’re comfortable providing your banking details
