Micro jobs company

Field Agent
USA: www.fieldagent.net
Canada: ca.fieldagent.net
Australia: fieldagent.net.au

Field Agent was founded in 2010 and is based in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  They currently operate in eight different countries, including Canada and Australia.

Their focus is on “in-the-moment” shopping feedback in areas including retail audits, short mystery shops, surveys, and scavenger hunts.

Mystery Shopping Professionals Association (MSPA)

Field Agent is a member of MSPA, with MSPA Americas.

Mobile Marketing Research Association (MMRA)

Field Agent is a member of MMRA, www.mmra-global.org, and is also represented on the advisory board.

Better Business Bureau (BBB)

Field Agent is not accredited nor rated with the Better Business Bureau but it has had a file with them since 2010. There are some customer reviews and there are also some complaints.  The complaints are related to payments with the two most recent complaints logged in 2018.

Cost to you

Pay range

Field Agent micro jobs pays you anywhere from $2.00 CAD to $20.00 CAD per job.  There are times when you will need to buy something as part of the job but your pay usually includes that cost.

For example, if the pay for a job is $15.00 and you need to buy a milkshake as part of that job, you will receive just $15.00 in total.

Payment method

Field Agent pays through different methods in different countries.  For example, in the USA you can select direct deposit by linking your bank account.  In Canada, you are paid by Interac E-transfer.  In Australia, you’ll be paid through PayPal.

Payment frequency

Field Agent pay is on-demand so your account will grow until you request to be paid.  And once again, how often you can request payment will depend on your location.

Field Agent only accepts requests for payment once minimum balances are reached in your account.  In Canada, you need to have a minimum of $50.00 CAD before you can request payment.  NOTE: In Canada, you could request payment with as little as $5.00 in your account but then you’re charged a $.75 transaction fee.  In Australia, the minimum balance for payment is $25.00 AUD.

We do not have anyone who has reached the minimum balance required to request payment so we cannot personally comment on that process.  But we’ll update this post when we have information for you!

Report submission

You have to complete Field Agent micro jobs within two hours of accepting them – and that includes the report that is part of the job.  There are no exceptions so you might not want to accept a job until you are physically at the location.  If you accept a job and then cancel it, your rating might be lowered.

All Field Agent jobs are done through the mobile app and the report is part of the jobs.  That means once you’re done the job, you’re also done the reporting.

Mobile App usability

The Field Agent app is pretty clear and you perform all the jobs from within the app. It uses your profile address to display jobs near you.  You can view them by job type in list form or you can view them by their locations on a map view. You can easily expand the map and move the view to a different region to find a job you like.

Social media

Field Agent is on a number of social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.  You can reach the Field Agent community and their support fairly quickly through these social media sites.

Job availability

You need to check the Field Agent app frequently because the job list can change a lot throughout the day.

Sometimes you may see only a dozen jobs listed and they may not be very close to you.  Then at other times, you’ll see more than 150 jobs listed nearby.  If you use the job list instead of the map view then the jobs are categorised for you and each category is sorted with those closest to you listed first.

As with most of the job sites, your location is a big factor in finding work.  The larger your city/town, the more jobs you’ll see listed near you.

Agent support

The Field Agent jobs need to be completed within two hours so if you have any questions while you’re doing the work it will be very hard to reach support in time to finish.  Our advice is to read the job carefully before you accept it.

If you have any questions as you read the description, you could try reaching Field Agent support before accepting the job.  Otherwise, you risk your work being rejected and then you don’t get paid!
